The Wolfhound Mutt is the Wolfhound's beveled-edge body in a different wood. Where the Wolfhound is mahogany, the Mutt comes in alder, swamp ash, basswood, Spanish cedar or roasted pine, on a maple neck back. Scale is 24-3/4", with a Tune-o-matic and stop tailpiece, and there is no pickguard.
Anderson sets the neck pickup a little toward the bridge from the 24th-fret harmonic point, for what they describe as a clearer neck tone that is easier to use across more of your music. The 24-3/4" scale has slightly lower string tension than 25-1/2". We see the Mutt as the Wolfhound for a player who wants the shape and feel in a different body wood.
For the mahogany body and neck, look at the Wolfhound. The Dire Wolfhound uses a regular-thickness body and takes a tremolo, a Baby Floyd or a locking Floyd.
The guitar in the photo is one customer's build in Voodoo Blue, shown as an example. Every Anderson is built to order: after you order, we go through the build with you, from the woods and finish to the neck shape, frets, pickups and hardware.
