The Angel Player is the Angel with an all-tonewood body of alder or basswood and no figured top. You get the same 24-fret neck, the same deep cutaways and long horns for reaching the upper frets, and the same sculpted front and back contours. Anderson built it with the working player in mind, and it has found its own following on looks as well.
Like the rest of the Angel family it runs without pickup rings, which Anderson says puts the neck pickup nearer the 24th-fret harmonic. Choose the 25-1/2" scale, or the 24-3/4" Li'l Angel Player for slightly lower string tension.
It suits a player who wants the Angel's reach and range on a solid tonewood body. For a figured top on the same shape, look at the Angel. For the all-tonewood body with a pickguard, look at the Guardian Angel Player.
The guitar in the photo is one customer's build in Satin Metallic Green Go, shown as an example. Every Anderson is built to order: after you order, we go through the build with you, from the woods and finish to the neck shape, frets, pickups and hardware.
