The Baritom Classic is Anderson's baritone with an all-tonewood body and a pickguard. Its 28-5/8" scale takes heavier strings tuned B to B, a fourth below standard, so the lower tuning holds proper tension where a standard-scale guitar would go slack.
Anderson places the Baritom between a bass and a regular guitar, a part that can carry a track or sit underneath one. The Classic is the pickguard version of the family, with the same neck shapes, frets and Anderson Pickupworks pickups as the rest of the line.
There are four Baritom models, and the choice between them is about looks and shape. For the same body with no pickguard, look at the Baritom Pro Am. For a figured top, the Baritom Drop Top. For the offset body, the Baritom Raven. If you want the Classic in standard scale, look at The Classic.
The guitar in the photo is one customer's build in Seafoam Green, shown as an example. Every Anderson is built to order: after you order, we go through the build with you, from the woods and finish to the neck shape, frets, pickups and hardware.
