The Mongrel is an Anderson T body wearing an S-style pickguard. It keeps the T outline with Anderson's full body contours, and the S guard brings its angled control layout with it. Anderson usually fits a tremolo, though it isn't required: the bridge can be a vintage tremolo, a fixed bridge or a chopped, compensated 3-saddle.
The body is alder or basswood, with a maple neck and rosewood board on a 25-1/2" scale or the 24-3/4" Shorty, which carries slightly lower string tension.
For a T with its own pickguard, look at the T Classic. For the traditional 3-saddle bridge around the bridge pickup, look at the T Icon.
The guitar in the photo is one customer's build in Translucent Butterscotch, shown as an example. Every Anderson is built to order: after you order, we go through the build with you, from the woods and finish to the neck shape, frets, pickups and hardware.
