The Raven Superbird Classic is the Raven Classic built a specific way. The offset body is mahogany or a mahogany-like wood, the neck back is mahogany, and the scale is always 24-3/4". The pickguard stays, which is what makes it a Classic.
Anderson's own reasoning is that the shorter scale makes reaches a little easier and puts slightly more weight in the mids, and that the mahogany neck focuses the midrange further. The shorter scale also means slightly lower string tension than a 25-1/2" guitar. We see it as the Raven for a player after the more mid-focused voice Anderson describes, on the same offset shape.
For the alder or basswood version with a choice of scale, look at the Raven Classic. For this build without a pickguard, the Raven Superbird. The Wolfhound shares the mahogany body, mahogany neck and 24-3/4" scale on a beveled-edge body.
The guitar in the photo is one customer's build in Satin Transparent Orange, shown as an example. Every Anderson is built to order: after you order, we go through the build with you, from the woods and finish to the neck shape, frets, pickups and hardware.
