The CB V is David Ellefson's USA Concert Bass as a 5-string, adding a low B below the standard four. It shares the 4-string's build: alder body, quartersawn maple neck-through with graphite reinforcement and a scarf joint, 34" scale, and an ebony board with outlined sharkfin inlays, 21 jumbo frets and a 12" to 16" compound radius. The nut widens to 1.75" to fit the fifth string.
Active EMG 40CS and 40DC pickups run through volume, a blend knob and three bands of EQ for bass, mids and treble. The bridge is a Jackson HiMass, the tuners are Hipshot Non-Locking, and it comes strung .045-.130 in a black hardshell case.
It comes in Satin Silver or Satin Black, with body binding in black or white depending on the finish. For four strings and the narrower 1.625" nut, look at the CB IV.
